THE WORKSHOPS :

The old powered forging hammers of the Providence forges in Marchienne-au-Pont have taken their place in the old colliery workshops. Thanks to the support of the General Commissariat for Tourism, the new forge and foundry are fitted with modern industrial tools which make possible original creations produced by the craftsmen.

In a particularly authentic atmosphere emphasised by the contrast between the blackness of the machines and the light from the forge fires, the acrid smell of the coal and the ringing of the anvils, the visitor to the site can attend demonstrations of the forge.
